Lil’ Flip Wants Critics to Stop Worrying About Donald Trump and Help Hurricane Harvey Victims [VIDEO]
Last week, President Donald Trump visited Texas and offered words of encouragement and support to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. However, some critics felt that Trump lacked empathy in his speech and criticized him for not helping out with the rescue efforts. But rapper Lil’ Flip defended the president in his recent chat with TMZ.
The Houston rhymer, who has been helping in the relief efforts following Hurricane Harvey, feels that people should stop criticizing Trump and come on down to H-Town and help the people.
"At least he came, he didn't just sit in his White House and not come," said Flip about President Trump's visit. "You get an "E" for effort, for trying."
As for the criticism that Trump received, he feels it was unwarranted. He also questioned how many of those same critics flew down to Houston to help the people out. "If you are going to point the finger at somebody, then you should be out [here]," he said. "Whoever has a problem with how [Trump] handled it, then they should go out there and do something as well."
"But for a person to criticize somebody who at least is trying to do something while they are sitting at home a million miles away, he without sin cast the first stone," he added.
Lil' Flip is among several Houston natives who are helping in the recovery efforts in Texas. Rapper Trae tha Truth just launched his own Hurricane Harvey relief fund called “We Are One" via his GoFundme page. Fellow H-Towner Bun B is organizing a telethon for Hurricane Harvey victims.
Finally, Beyonce's BeyGOOD Foundation has partnered with two Houston-based charities Bread for Life and Greater Houston Community Foundation and is urging fans to donate to them through her website.
