As the ongoing rebuilding process continues after Hurricane Harvey decimated the city of Houston, Texas, hometown legend Trae Tha Truth is doing what he can to make sure hurricane victims get essential aid they immediately need.

The Houston legend has launched his own Hurricane Harvey relief fund called “We Are One.” The fundraiser is set up at Trae’s official GoFundme page. The veteran rapper is encouraging his fans to donate as much as they can. So far, the fundraiser has raised over $60,000 of its $250,000 goal. The organization is also accepting 'in kind' goods including clothing, food, baby items, pet food, supplies and more.

“I Choose To Not Sit Back And Watch People Be Denied The Help They Need,” Trae writes. “Many people in Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur and surrounding Southeast Texas areas were affected by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. I have spent time with the people in the rescue shelters, and had a first-hand account of the suffering. I to, sympathize with the pain of these people, having to be rescued from my own home.”

Trae has spent the past several days riding around with his local fire department doing water rescues. In fact, the rapper has saved more than a few people in the flooded streets of Houston. One of those people turned out to be Orlando Magic b-baller Jonathan Simmons.
