Bun B Helps Organize Telethon for Hurricane Harvey Victims
In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, a number of celebrities have come forward to help the victims, donating money and even assisting in person. Now, Houston rap legend Bun B has revealed how he will help the victims of his home state.
According to a report from TMZ, the rapper, along with the people who were behind Ariana Grande’s Manchester, England benefit concert will organize a telethon. Sources close to the event say the group is looking at Sept. 12 for the event and have received commitments from major television networks to air it in primetime.
The event was also teased by Jamie Foxx on Instagram. The comedian, who is a Texas native, said the telethon would take place on Sept. 12. Foxx has already donated $25,000, as have other celebs such as Kevin Hart, Nicki Minaj and Dwayne Johnson.
Bun B, did say, however that Donal Trump is not invited—unless he shows up with past presidents, namely Barack Obama, in a gesture of unity.
"Putting Trump on by himself would send the wrong message and people wouldn't buy the sincerity of it," Bun told TMZ. "After what he did in Charlottesville, he's not a symbol of unity and it would rub people the wrong way."
