Chris Brown Denied ‘Power’ Role Because of ‘Anger Issues’
Chris Brown and 50 Cent have collaborated on a number of songs, so it wouldn’t be strange to see the pair link up on the rapper’s hit series Power. However, the show’s executives weren’t so keen on that idea.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Fiddy promised Breezy a role on Power but the execs blocked that from happening. An insider told the newspaper that Brown wanted to play a drug dealer on the show but 50 didn’t consult the network first. When the show's producers found out about it, they reportedly nixed the idea because of the singer's "anger issues."
On Monday (Aug. 29), when Brown got the news that he wasn't going to be on Power, he was livid. On the following night, that's when all hell broke loose at his home when he allegedly pointed a gun at Baylee Curran, which led to a standoff with police hours later.
Since then, the R&B singer has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and released on $250,000 bail. Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, said that his client is innocent in the case and that police found no gun inside the home. “It has become apparent that the allegations are not just false but fabricated,” Brown’s lawyer, said.
Chris Brown and his legal team believe that Deputy D.A. Mary Murray has a score to settle with the singer ever since his 2009 assault case where he beat his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
50 Cent, Ray J, Tank and others artist have voiced their support for the embattled singer.
Reps for Starz didn’t have a comment on the matter.
