XXXTentacion and his attorney have recently filed documents claiming that the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, who allegedly beat while she was pregnant, doesn’t want to testify in the domestic abuse case and wants the charges dropped.

For those who don't know, the Florida rapper is charged with aggravated battery of pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and witness-tampering. The case stems from XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, who was arrested in October 2016 for allegedly beating his girlfriend for nearly a year. Prosecutors have police reports where the victim detailed some disturbing patterns of abuse by XXXTentacion.

Although the victim doesn't want to testify, prosecutors are still moving forward with the case, according Pitchfork.

At a hearing in Miami on Friday (Dec. 1), prosecutors announced plans to break up the case into two parts -- XXXTentacion will go to trial first on the more serious charge of witness-tampering, which is a first-degree felony and could result in a life sentence. The "Look At Me" rapper has denied all charges repeatedly over social media.

The trial was initially scheduled for Dec. 11 but the next hearing in the case is now set for Dec. 15.

The alleged victim in the case addressed witness-tampering in her January deposition. According to the transcript, she claims that XXXtentacion threatened her over the phone, indicating that she and a friend were “digging our own graves, basically.”

She also testified that Onfroy’s team asked her to end the case by allegedly offering her cash. “Yeah, you can offer me money,’” she said. "They were like, 'How much do you want?' And I was like '3k.'"

"They were like, 'you need to drop the charges,'" she said in the deposition. "And I was like, 'I’m not dropping charges, unless you pay me.' But you know, I was just being smart about it."

Attorneys for XXXTentacion had no comment on the matter.
