Wu-Tang Clan Commemorates 20th Anniversary of ‘Wu-Tang Forever’ at Day 2 of Governors Ball [VIDEO]
The Wu-Tang Clan celebrated the 20th anniversary of their second album Wu-Tang Forever at Day 2 of the Governors Ball in New York on Saturday (June 3).
In front of a designed set to resemble their Park Hill neighborhood including a Chinese restaurant, the founding members of the Wu -- RZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Cappadonna, GZA, Inspectah Deck U-God and Masta Killa -- took the audience down memory lane and performed all of their classic hits from both their 1993 debut LP Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and Wu-Tang Forever.
According to Billboard, the Wu-Tang Clan performed such hits as "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing Ta F' Wit," "C.R.E.A.M." and, of course, "Triumph" and "It's Yours" from Wu-Tang Forever. The Wu also brought out Ol' Dirty Bastard's son, Young Dirty Bastard, who performed his late father's classic songs, "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and "Got Your Money."
The rap collective closed their show with the first single that launched them into rap infamy -- "Protect Ya Neck." Interestingly, the veteran rappers performed the song a cappella style.
