Last year, Bridget Kelly left Roc Nation to embark on her musical journey as an independent artist. So far, she's winning with projects like Summer of 17. Now she celebrates her newfound independence in the video for “My Kinda Life.”

“I live by my own rules. I love being out with my friends, laughing, being mischievous. I get a kick out of spontaneity, enjoying the moment! I don't want to have any regrets, I just want to follow my dreams and my heart,” Kelly tells The Boombox of the inspiration behind the song.

In the clip, the 29-year-old New York native does just that. She takes fans behind the scenes of her daily grind, which includes performing for a packed house, indulging in shopping sprees, meeting fans, rushing to the airport and letting loose during sound check.

“Most people think I'm crazy (I might stay out all night) / I talk loud and curse like hell (I won’t apologize) / But if you could get to know me (there's one thing on my mind) / All I wanna do is get my money right (bitch better have my money),” the Grammy Award winner sings.

Director J Williams (she's Hype Williams' niece) does an excellent job of giving an intimate look at how hard the “Special Delivery” singer works to please her dedicated fans.

If you love the song, you can cop it on Kelly’s Summer of 17, which is available on iTunes. The collection features the summertime hit, “Act Like That” featuring Mack Wilds.
