The battle rap scene has taken the rap game by storm and now it's getting a national spotlight thanks to Snoop Dogg. The veteran rhyme-slinger, who will host the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards, announced via his Instagram page on Monday (July 28) that he and Murda Mook will bring "something real big for the hip-hop battle scene."

According to reports, it appears that Snoop Dogg will present some type of battle rap segment during the awards ceremony with Murda Mook possibly tapped as a presenter.

"Yo Mook, I don't think they heard us," he said. "We about to do the something real big for the Hip Hop battle scene. I'm hosting the BET Hip Hop Awards again this year, but I got something real special planned this time."

This exciting news comes just weeks after Eminem presented the Total Slaughter pay-per-view rap battle tournament in New York. Battle rappers Hollow da Don and Murda Mook both dismantled their opponents, Joe Budden and Loaded Lux, respectively, at the event.

No word on how Snoop plans to present the battle rap segment at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, but if it's anything like the infamous "Cyphers," this is something viewers don't want to miss.

The 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards is scheduled to air on Oct. 15 at 8PM ET.
