Congrats are in order for Pusha T, who has been named the President of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.

According to Billboard, it took four months of negotiations to get the Virginia rhymer to fill the position. Along with Push, his longtime manager, Steven Victor, was hired to be the label’s A&R Director.

This should be an easy fit for the “Number on the Boards” rapper. As an artist, producer and businessman, Pusha understands what it takes to run a successful brand and to take it to the next level.

G.O.O.D. Music already has a stellar roster of talent that includes Big Sean, Q-Tip, Teyana Taylor and Kacy Hill. Now with Pusha behind the desk it can only get better.

According to the "Grindin'" rapper, it was Yeezy who offered him the position. "'Ye had called me and he was like, 'Tell me something. What do you think about being the president of G.O.O.D. Music?' And I was like, 'Well, what are the things that you’re looking for?' he explained to Billboard. "And he was basically just like, to manicure the label, make it profitable and be very business-oriented about it going forward in a manicured type of way."

"I always look at it as an opportunity to help the team and I think that artistically, me and Kanye have the same vision," he explains further. "He respects me as an artist, a really manicured artist. I’m not out here shooting in the dark, doing any and every thing. When it comes to albums and things like that, I have a very manicured process in which I get to take my time and I think he sorta respects that I get to take my time."

Although Pusha will be the working diligently as the president of G.O.O.D. Music, he's not hanging up the microphone. The 38-year-old rhymer says that his new album is ready for release.

"My album is just a whole other thing in all honesty," he states. "F’real, what you’re gonna get from this King Push album is something people probably haven’t heard in the past 18 years. I’m just putting it together, aiming for classic material."

Congratulations to Pusha T! This is certainly a good move for the veteran MC.
