Producer Nottz to Score Film, ‘Revolutions Per Minute’

Veteran producer Nottz will be scoring an upcoming film entitled 'Revolutions Per Minute.'

The Norfolk, Va. native has been announced as the soundtrack-provider for 'Revolutions Per Minute,' a film set in the late '90s hip-hop scene. The movie is about a one-hit-wonder named Billy da Kid, who embarks on an unwitting voyage of self discovery while attempting a comeback as a gangsta rapper on tour in Europe.

"Nowadays, too many movies just throw together a few songs from people's back catalogs and call it a soundtrack. We want to create music especially for this that will unify the whole film," Nottz explained to HipHopDX, regarding his involvement in the film. "We want people to leave the theaters saying 'I got to get that soundtrack!'"

'RPM,' which has yet to be cast, is being directed by Tim Gregory and produced by film vet John Michael Reefer, who was the costume designer on Spike Lee's 1986 breakout film 'She's Gotta Have It.' Nottz went on to promise fans that his original soundtrack is going to sound "nostalgic and authentic for that time period but fresh at the same time!"

The respected beatsmith, who recently released his 'Rawth' EP with Asher Roth, and helmed Rah Digga's 'Classic' comeback album, has also produced for Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, G-Unit and many more, maintaining a relatively low profile, given his talents.
