Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won the first award of the night at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The Seattle duo nabbed the Best New Artist trophy during the live show Sunday night (Jan. 26).

They were overwhelmed when they walked to the podium to give their acceptance speech. Maybe it’s because early in the evening the dynamic duo grabbed three honors in the rap categories including Best Rap Album for 'The Heist.'

"First and foremost, I want to thank our fans, the people the got us here on this stage," Macklemore says. "Without them, there wouldn’t be no us. Shout out to everybody repping worldwide."

"I want to say thank you to my beautiful fiancee, my parents, my manager, our team that puts together this music," he continues. "They sacrificed everything for this art, countless hours in the studio, onstage and everyone that made this album what it is. I love you guys."

In closing, Macklemore wanted to make it clear that their hard work was done independently without any major label backing.

"I just want to say, we made this album without a record label and we appreciate all of the support," Macklemore states.

Congratulations to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for their four Grammy wins so far.
