Against a dark, stormy backdrop, Macklemore premiered his new song "Kevin" at the 2015 American Music Awards with his creative partner Ryan Lewis and rising crooner Leon Bridges.

Similar to Macklemore's previous songs, "Kevin" comes with a message. The track follows a kid who is battling drug addiction and details how drug companies and society contribute to the epidemic.

"First dealer was his mom's medicine cabinet," rapped Macklemore before Leon Bridges comes in with his sweeping soulful voice. "Doctor please give me a dose of the American dream / Put down the pen and look in my eye" he sings.

While the two artists donned suits, Ryan Lewis hung back to play the keys on the piano. A live string orchestra and choir also contributed to the show.

"You're killing me" was the last line of the track, but so far it's giving fans life.

"Macklemore tune was awesome. Hard to pull off social commentary songs and he's one of the best at it. Also, Leon Bridges - sooooo good!," a fan tweeted. "when will that Macklemore & Leon Bridges song be out?! that was totally chilling," wrote another while a supporter called Leon Bridges' voice "unmatched."
