Kendrick Lamar Will Open the Show at the Grammys
The list of Grammy performers keeps expanding. Kendrick Lamar has now been added as the show opener, sources have told Billboard.
Kendrick, who is up for seven awards off the strength of his most recent album, DAMN., has become one of the most explosive performers in recent Grammy history. From his memorable performance in 2014 with Imagine Dragons, to his most recent provocative appearance in 2016 when he shut the house down with "Blacker the Berry" and "Alright" from his acclaimed album, To Pimp A Butterfly, his shows are always anticipated.
No word on what song he'll open with this go-around—he has a long list to pull from including his smash hits "DNA," "Humble," "Loyalty" and "Love." Maybe he'll get creative and perform "Pride" or "Feel"? You never know with Kendrick.
He's fresh off his halftime performance at the College Football Playoff National Championship game in Atlanta, where he delivered an energetic show and also performed his new song from the Black Panther soundtrack, "All The Stars." With Black Panther due out in February, there's a chance he'll perform something from the soundtrack, which he curated and produced.
Kendrick joins Bruno Mars, Cardi B, SZA, Childish Gambino and more, who've already been announced as performers at the 60th Annual Grammys.
The Grammys will air live on Jan. 28 on CBS at 7:30 p.m. ET.
