Did TDE’s Punch Hint at a Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole Collaboration? [PHOTO]
As fans eagerly await for J. Cole to drop his new project K.O.D. on Friday (April 20), Top Dawg Entertainment president Punch posted a photo that has fans yearning for a Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole collaboration.
In the IG photo above, you see an apple that has been bitten into with the caption, “4bidden.” For those who don’t know, J. Cole and Lamar teamed up on a song called “Forbidden Fruit” on J. Cole’s 2013 album Born Sinner.
Rap fans have been posting their theories on the photo, including a possibility that a J. Cole and K.Dot collaborative album could be in the works. Others are theorizing that Lamar will drop his fourth album, tentatively titled Nation, this year, thus the number “4.”
When J. Cole unveiled the cover art to K.O.D., the LP's tracklist caused a lot of chatter on social media over the two features from someone called KILL Edward. Many fans have speculated that it was Lamar but there hasn't been an official confirmation of this so it's anyone's guess.
However, music journalist Andres Tardio may have revealed who edward really is: J. Cole himself. edwards's voice on "Tidal Wave (just a little reference)," the only released track by the rapper, sounds like a slowed-down version of J. Cole's.
Hopefully, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar will team up for a collaborative project in the future.
