Ice Cube Releases Big3 Video Featuring Allen Iverson and Dr. J [WATCH]
Ice Cube will officially launch his Big3 basketball league at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 25. To get the ball rollin’ (excuse the pun), Cube just dropped a promotional video for the 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
In the black-and-white clip above, Cube walks into the studio grabs the mic and spits his snarly rhymes about the players and coaches who are participating in the league. As we previously reported, former NBA-er Allen Iverson (A.I.) has signed on as coach and player, while Hall of Famer Julius Erving (aka Dr. J) will coach. Both veteran players make a cameo in the visual.
Other ex-NBA stars who’ve already signed on to the league include Kenyon Martin, Mike Bibby, Jermaine O’Neal, Stephen Jackson, Jason Williams and Bonzi Wells, just to name a few. All of these players are mentioned in Cube’s video.
"We got the power / To do it B-I-G / We got tri-state coach by the D-O-C / We got the Answer / His crossover is sick / And that White Chocolate got dimes to flip," raps Cube with legendary producer DJ Pooh watching behind the boards.
If you're interested in catching game, you can purchase tickets at Big3.com. And if you can't make it to any of the games, don't fret. All of the Big3 3-on-3 basketball games (10 weekly games in all) will air live on Fox. Check your local listings for air times.
