When Ice Cube rapped, "Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp / And it read, 'Ice Cube's a pimp,'" back in 1993, on his hit song 'It Was a Good Day,' he probably had no idea that years later his words would come true.

The rapper got his name on the famous Goodyear blimp for a good cause today. How did this happen? The Huffington Post reports that an Internet charity ran a fundraising effort to get Cube's name featured. If they could drum up $25,000 in donations, they could help A Place Called Home, an after-school center in Los Angeles, and get the attention of Goodyear too.

Goodyear obliged and ran “Ice Cube Says Today Is a Good Day" on its iconic blimp. The West Coast MC and kids from the charity flew around in the blimp too.

“I knew this song had legs when we did it, and it’s actually my most popular song,” said Cube. “I never knew that 20 years later, people would still be this interested in the song and the lyrics, and that the song would do something this special for some good kids.”
