The Houston hip-hop community is mourning the loss of an O.G. in the game. Legendary rapper Mr. 3-2, of the rap group The Convicts, was shot and killed at a gas station on Thursday night (Nov. 10).

According to ABC News 13, Mr. 3-2 (real name Christopher Barriere), was involved in a fight with four other men inside a gas station when one of the men pulled out a gun and shoot Mr. 3-2 in the back of the head.

The suspect then drove away only to come back and this time he had a shotgun. The shooter allegedly fired at a second victim, hitting him in the face. Another person was also shot in the leg and a third person is being questioned by police.

Authorities are now on the hunt for the gunman who fled the scene.

Mr. 3-2 was active participant in the early rise of the Houston rap scene during the 1990’s. He was a member of three different rap groups on the iconic rap label Rap-A-Lot Records: first with The Convicts (along with Big Mike) followed by Southside Playaz and Blac Monks. Mr 3-2 also recorded songs with fellow Houston rhymers like Scarface, Geto Boys and UGK, of which he reputedly taught Pimp C how to rap.

Upon hearing the sad news of Mr. 3-2’s death, veteran rappers like Snoop Dogg, Slim Thug and Lil O went on their social media accounts to send condolences to the deceased rapper's family.

We want to send our heartfelt prayers to Mr. 3-2’s friends and family as well. May he rest in peace.
