As promised, Fabolous gifted fans with his new mixtape, 'Soul Tape 3' -- his third installment of his popular tape series -- on Christmas Day. The collection boasts several new tracks and finds the rapper spitting bars over popular rap instrumentals.

The 12-song mixtape features guest appearances from top-notch rhymers Meek Mill, Jadakiss and Jeezy and singers Mack Wilds and Ryan Leslie. On the production end, producers AraabMuzik, Sonaro, Mark Henry, the Superiors, Boi-1da ILLmind and others provide some great beats.

Among the standout tracks on 'Soul Tape 3' include the melodic 'The Get Back.' The Brooklyn MC reflects on lives lost to street violence. The song beautifully meshes Lonnie Liston Smith’s 'A Garden of Peace,' which Jay Z sampled on 'Dead Presidents,' with Kendrick Lamar's 'Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe.'

On the orchestral banger 'Foreigners,' Fab and Meek tell haters to be quiet while they push expensive foreign cars and travel around the world. Then Fab teams up with Jadakiss on the braggadocio track 'The Hope' to remind listeners why they have longevity in the rap game.

Elsewhere, Fabolous delivers a few rap ballads about nagging groupies ('Cuffin Season'), unforgettable love affairs (the fantastic 'Lay Down') and tumultuous relationships (the piano-driven 'Situationships').

Overall, 'Soul Tape 3' is a great Christmas gift for his fans. The 36-year-old rhymer has some genuine hits on here that could do well on radio. Expect to hear more from Fab when he drops 'Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power' in 2014.
