Fabolous and Others Salute J. Cole’s ‘KOD’ Album: ‘He Delivered a Message’ [PHOTO]
J. Cole’s just released album KOD has garnered plenty of reactions from both fans and rappers alike.
Fabolous went on Instagram to salute the North Carolina rhymer for creating a body of work that is very much need for the culture.
"That boy Cole talkin’ that real... Listened two times back to back on my flight to LA. Delivered a message, talked your shit, gave your perspective, vented thru your music, addressed some things, experimented & stayed in your lane all at the same time on this project. Salute @realcoleworld #KOD," he wrote in the caption.
In the sports world, Cole's album is having an impact on athletes. During a media conference, Golden State Warriors player Kevin Durant called Cole a hip-hop legend at the age of 33.
“I feel like he was in my head as he was writing this album...,” he told a reporter, added that he listened to KOD at least five times and plans to listen some more.
Finally, hip-hop icon Nas went on Instagram and saluted J. Cole as well. He simply shared the LP's cover art and posted a black fist emoji in the caption.
Meanwhile, Cole's album is already breaking streaming records. According to Chart Data, KOD garnered 4.2 million streams in 24 hours, beating out previous record holder Taylor Swift whose song “Look What You Made Me Do" earned 3.8 million streams on the day it dropped.
In addition, KOD skyrocketed to No. 1 on iTunes in the U.S. and 35 other countries.
On Saturday, J. Cole went on Twitter to express his gratitude and highlight a problem - he can't find any physical copies to buy.
"[I] appreciate the convo taking place. It's eye opening," he tweeted, adding, "How I can't find a physical copy to my own shit."
