Cleveland, Ohio native Chip tha Ripper has been making waves in the hip-hop realm over the past few years, but he's ready to take his career to the next level with the help of fellow townie Kid Cudi. Chip, who is currently in the process of putting together his upcoming album 'Gift Raps,' has partnered with Cudders to form a group dubbed The Almighty Glory Us.

"I met Cudi four years ago, and I heard his music and I didn't know he was hip to my music, but we came out to the show in Chicago at the Metro on the Northside and ever since then its been going down," Chip told AllHipHop. "We kind of recognized what we had to do. A lot of s--- was unspoken, but we knew we had to get it in. We were taking it serious on some next level shit, not even just in the city."

Chip also reflects on when he and Cudi decided to form their group, stating that its origins are deeper than fans would expect. 'I remember when [Kanye West's] '808 and Heartbreak' came out and we came and got Cudi from the airport and he was like 'Yo we should form this group,'' he recollects.

Aside from working with Cudi, Chip recently wrapped up a nationwide tour and is currently finishing up recording a new album dubbed 'Gift Raps.' The independent release was produced entirely by Chuck Inglish of the Cool Kids, with only a few more guest features needed to call it a wrap.

"I got this 'Gift Raps' album I am doing right now. Chuck produced that whole album. It's going to be in stores, iTunes and we're doing it independent," he said. "We got some features on there we are still getting but it's going down."
