During his illustrious career, 9th Wonder has worked with several prominent MCs including JAY-Z, Drake and the late Sean Price. The veteran producer also has been working closely with Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment.

During his appearance on Complex’s Everyday Struggle program on Tuesday (Oct. 17), 9th was asked about his long musical bond with TDE. The studio wizard, of course, produced “Duckworth,” one of the standout tracks on K.Dot’s album, Damn.

"We're just trying to make sure the music great, maybe stories come along with, maybe downfalls come along with, but we are just trying to keep the music great, he said about his musical partnership with TDE.

9th Wonder’s musical ties with TDE started in 2011 when Lamar appeared alongside Warren G and Murs on "Enjoy (West Coastin')” on 9th’s Wonder Years album. "[Kendrick] told me, 'you are one of first big producers that [worked] with me,'" he said. "We've done songs with Ab[-Soul], we've done songs with other people on the [TDE] team, like, I have an album with SiR, like 12 songs."

"We are trying to keep the culture on the music end," he added. "But it's straight music for us. "And that's where we bond - Me, Top [Anthony Tiffith], Dave [Free], Red and everybody over there. We are just one big happy family."

Elsewhere in the interview, 9th Wonder talked about Post Malone's No. 1 single "Rockstar" (featuring 21 Savage) and longevity in the rap game.
