Before Yasiin Bey bids farewell to the rap game, the veteran rapper sat down for an interview with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning on Wednesday (Aug. 30).

The artist formerly known as Mos Def talked about a myriad of topics, including his travel issues with South Africa. As you may know, the South African government banned Bey from their continent last year after he was arrested for trying to leave using a "World Transport." Most countries don't recognize the world passport, including South Africa.

Bey wouldn't go into specifics about his travel ban, but he insists that he didn't do anything illegal. "I feel they [South African government] tried to make me a pubic example to discourage anyone to travel in and out of Africa," he stated.

Elsewhere in the interview, Bey talked about the Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor fight, his future in the entertainment industry, how the world views President Donald Trump, and his thoughts on today's hip-hop movement.
