Chart-topping artists Ty Dolla $ign and Pusha T have signed on to perform in a free concert series to address the problematic issue of the high incarceration rate among California’s young people.

The #SchoolsNotPrisons tour will travel to 11 different California cities including three adult and youth correctional facilities, to address the need to invest in our youth and adjourning communities.

The trek kicks offs Aug. 6 in Sacramento, and will hit California cities likes San Bernardino, Oakland, Fresno, Coachella, Oxnard and San Diego before wrapping it up in Stockton on Oct. 29.

Other artists participating in the tour include rapper-poet John Forte, R&B singer Gallant and many others.

The social message behind the tour hits close to home for Ty Dolla $ign because his brother Big TC is currently in prison. Recently, they both collaborated on a somber but urgent song called "No Justice," which addresses America's history of police brutality on black people.

It’s always good to see music artists invest their time in our youth. The last couple of weeks have been very difficult in regards to race and police relations in America.
