Shawty Lo’s Autopsy Reveals Rapper in Possession of Painkillers at Time of Death
More details have emerged about Shawty Lo’s car accident that killed him on Sept. 21. The late D4L rapper died from blunt force trauma after he lost control of his 2016 Audi and crashed into a tree in Atlanta.
According to the rapper’s autopsy report (via TMZ), Shawty Lo was in possession of painkillers when he died. The Fulton County Medical Examiner stated that a prescription bottle labeled Promethazine was actually filled with Percocet and Vicodin.
The medical examiner also added that Lo’s body reeked of alcohol although toxicology result haven’t come in yet.
In addition, the autopsy report also stated that the two females who were in the car with Shawty Lo at the time of the crash asked cops on the scene if they could take a bunch of cash out of his pockets. The police allegedly allowed them to do it only leaving behind $16.
Shawty Lo's funeral was held earlier this month in Atlanta. Among the guests in attendance included Waka Flocka Flame’s mom, Debra Antney, and reality star Benzino. Fellow rapper Boosie Badazz made an appearance at the funeral via Skype. “Bankhead, the streets, the world, lost a real one,” he told mourners.
After the ceremony, Shawty Lo’s casket was chauffeured by a horse and carriage through his native hometown of Bankhead as hundreds yelled out his name. “He wasn’t ashamed of who he was and where he came from. He always showed respect for Bankhead,” said Lo’s Manager Johnnie Cabbell.
