Last year, many high-profile artists released highly anticipated album, including Kanye West's 'Yeezus,' Jay Z's 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' and Pusha T's 'My Name Is My Name.' The BoomBox Fan Choice Award for Hip-Hop Album of the Year is going to an alternative act, however. Run the Jewels -- the pairing of El-P and Killer Mike -- snatched 45.38 percent of the vote with their self-titled album.

Killer Mike and El-P had two of 2012's best albums with 'R.A.P. Music' (produced by the latter) and 'Cancer 4 Cure,' respectively. Anticipation was high for their first album as a duo and the project didn't disappoint. The acclaim was near unanimous as the duo combined lyrical idiosyncrasy with familiar hip-hop machismo and ear-rattling production. Clocking in at a little over 30 minutes, the hip-hop opus was yours for the low price of $0.00.

There's more Run The Jewels to come, too. The sequel is expected to drop this year. If this El-P tweet is any indicator, Run the Jewels is going to be strong for a long time.
