Rock Eulogizes Sean Price in Autobiographical Song ‘Rockness A.P. (After Price)’ [LISTEN]
The untimely death of Sean Price still weighs heavy on those who knew him well. Rock (aka Rockness Monstah), who was one-half of Heltah Skeltah with Price (aka Ruck), details his trials and tribulations after the group's breakup on his new song, “Rockness A.P. (After Price).”
Rock goes deep as he recalls the days of leaving Duck Down Records in the late '90s to go solo only to face major obstacles in his career path. Ultimately, Rock would rejoin the Clik in the 2000s and record a third album with Sean.
But their reunion was short lived due to Rock's wrong choices. The song ends with Rock apologizing to Prince as he describes the pain he felt after learning Price’s death in August.
The song is a deep listen and offers some perspective on his relationship with Prince. Rock is set to release his new project Rockness A.P. (After Price) on Sept. 22.
