R. Kelly Hospitalized After Emergency Throat Surgery

Grammy award-winning artist R. Kelly is "laid up indefinitely" at Chicago's Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to his publicist. The R&B singer had been experiencing throat pain and was rushed to emergency surgery after a throat exam.

The doctors drained an abscess tonsils on Tuesday, but as of today, R. Kelly is healing and resting up at the hospital.

The singer has been having financial troubles lately, with his suburban Illinois mansion facing foreclosure and his former manager suing him for $1 million in withheld commissions, but he's still riding high on the success of his recent tour and his 10th studio album hitting up the Billboard charts.
