On Monday (July 17), BuzzFeed broke the story that R&B star R. Kelly was holding women against their will in Atlanta and Chicago. One of the women, whose family has repeatedly been trying to contact her for months and have stated that Kelly has "brainwashed" their daughter, has released a video claiming the allegations aren't true.

In footage obtained by TMZ, 21-year old Joycelyn Savage claims she's where she wants to be. She says she cut communication with her family in a rambling and awkward "statement."

“I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that,” Savage says on-camera. “It’s just came to a point where it definitely has got out of hand, so I just want everybody to know — my parents and everybody in the world — that I’m totally fine. I’m happy where I’m at and everything is OK with me.”

Savage refuses to address questions about her whereabouts or whether she has roommates where she is.

For his part, Kelly issued a statement implying legal action may be taken against Savage's family.

“Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him," a rep for the singer told TMZ via statement. "Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
