Nipsey Hussle to Embark on ‘Crenshaw’ Tour in 2014

After making a $100,000 off his latest mixtape, 'Crenshaw,' Nipsey Hussle is taking his act on the road. The west coast rhymer, real name Ermias Asghedom, is embarking on a tour next year in support of the mixtape.

The 31-city trek will kick off Jan. 9 in Sacramento, Calif., and it will crisscross through different cities nationwide before wrapping it up on Feb. 13 in Albuquerque, Texas.

The tour follows behind Hussle’s recent opening of a pop-up shop in Brooklyn, N.Y., this week. Only a 1,000 mixtapes were available and those who pay $100 for the tape received a secret ticket inside to see Neighborhood Nip live in concert. So it was a win-win for both Hussle and his fans.

“It’s time we acknowledge what we all know: the music is free," Hussle told Forbes about his ingenious marketing strategy. “We shouldn’t force people to buy it, what we should do is create different methods to monetize the connection.”
