Kendrick Lamar Updates Fans on New Music: ‘None Is Coming’
Okay, okay. The thirst is real.
Remember that one time yesterday when Kendrick Lamar was recorded on Instagram Live thanking kinfolk for their support, and dropped that "new music is on the way?" And remember how folks took that to mean that he had new music on the way? Welp, hold that thought, homie.
Kendrick went on Twitter today to offer some clarification on that offhanded "new music coming" remark—basically saying there ain't none coming from him. Well, he didn't say that exactly.
"ThankU 4 the desire of always anticipating new music of my own," he wrote to the thirsty. "None is coming. My work will be in our future TDE dates tho."
Well, then. Basically, he just dropped an album last week, and he's not Future out here, so let him be, man. There's enough to unpack on .Damn.
At any rate, TDE has said there are several albums on the 2017 waiting list, including SZA's long-delayed, much-anticipated full-length debut, which is up next, as well as new music from ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock.
