Since breaking out with the refreshingly raw 'Survival Tactics' video early last year, and soon capitalizing on his new-found fame with the release of his debut solo mixtape, '1999,' Joey Bada$$ has been heralded (or burdened, depending on who you ask) as the face of New York's hip-hop renaissance. So far, the kid's lived up the hype.

December's Pro Era compilation, 'PEEP: The aPROcalypse,' collaborations with the likes of A$AP Rocky, DJ Premier and Action Bronson, plus a record deal offer from Jay-Z (which didn't come to fruition out of a "mutual understanding") have all kept Joey's momentum strong these past few months. But today the Brooklyn teen hopes to dodge the sophomore curse with the release of his second solo full-length effort, 'Summer Knights.'

The project clocks in at an ample 17 tracks and features the regular Pro Era faces, as well as renowned weed connoisseurs Smoke DZA and Collie Buddz. It's behind the boards where Joey's most exciting collaborations are found, though, as he links up with accomplished producers like The Alchemist, Statik Selektah, Oddisee, Lee Bannon and his idol MF DOOM -- even if Viktor Vaughn did toss him an old beat.
