Janelle Monae Plotting Return With New Album ‘Dirty Computer’
After a five-year hiatus, Janelle Monae is returning to the R&B scene with another futuristic music project.
The Atlanta-based songbird is prepping the release of her third album and narrative film titled Dirty Computer. The Grammy-nominated singer has released a special trailer for the project, which will also appear during select screenings of the Black Panther movie nationwide.
The 30-second trailer features a monologue from Monae who appears as a robot, as well as montages of a club scene. There's also a flurry of clips featuring women in love both with men and women. At the end, we see Monae wearing a spooky costume.
Dirty Computer is the follow-up to Monàe's 2013's The Electric Lady. There's no word on a release date as of yet. Check out the trailer above.
