Immortal Technique, K-Rino, Brother Ali and More to Perform at Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concert
Immortal Technique, Brother Ali and Houston vet, K-Rino are among the artists slated to perform Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concert taking place on Sept. 23.
Chino XL and Emilio Rojas will also be on hand for the concert, which will be held in San Antonio. Organized by Immortal Technique, all of the proceeds from the concert will go to local charities assisting in relief efforts for victims following the devastating storm.
“The venue in San Antonio was chosen because as I said before we were told by people in Texas that holding it in Houston was going to be logistically impossible and potentially divert immediate resources,” Immortal Technique explained. “I appreciate the advice of the residents of Texas and I really appreciate the venue Korova for helping us find sponsors and giving the full door for the people.”
The rapper was also appreciative of everyone who assisted in bringing the benefit concert into fruition.
“I want to extend my appreciation to everyone who came forward to help put this together,” he said. “Not just the artists but the local residents, promoters, sponsors, venue and all of the staff that will be killing themselves behind the scenes."
Since the storm hit, many celebrities have stepped up, hosting concerts, and donating to relief organizations, including Houston natives Trae Tha Truth, Beyoncé an Bun B, whose telethon will be aired across major networks on Sept. 12.
