Legendary music video director Hype Williams has been selected to helm an "erotic thriller" entitled 'Lust.'

The screenplay was penned by 'Basic Instinct, writer Joe Eszterhas, and has been described by producer Scott Steindorff as "'Fatal Attraction' in reverse." According to Variety, the film centers around the 30-year-old wife of a Miami magazine publisher, who becomes involved with a deceptively charming young playboy, who secretly films their sexual encounters.

The script went out to several directors on Thursday (August 4), and Williams was ultimately chosen to helm the film, which includes a major music piece, due to his extensive background in music videos.

"He's always been able to make everything he does sexy and hip, which is what we need," explained co-producer Peter J. Fruchtman.

'Lust' reportedly has a $28 million budget, and was acquired from Eszterhas, who wrote similarly-themed sexual thrillers 'Sliver' and 'Showgirls,' this past spring. The film's producers are currently casting for a Nov. 1 start date for filming.

In addition to filming classic videos for Wu-Tang Clan, The Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, Tupac and Jay-Z, Williams recently shot visuals for Kanye West ('All of the Lights') and Nicki Minaj ('Massive Attack').

'Lust' will be Hype's second feature, after his Nas and DMX-starring rap classic 'Belly' bombed in 1998.
