Former Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon Wants to be ‘Like Oprah’
Former 3LW singer and star of Disney's 'The Cheetah Girls' Adrienne Bailon has announced she's plotting to be the next Oprah Winfrey.
The 27-year-old singer and actress claims to be in talks to develop her own talk show, after a surprising turn last year as a co-host on 'Maury's Talented Kids,' with talk show host Maury Povich.
"We're in talks about a possible talk show," Bailon revealed in a recent interview. "[Producers] approached me actually. That's where the whole Maury thing came up. People are like, 'Why is she doing stuff with Maury Povich?' But this is why. I wanna be like Oprah."
The singer continued to explain that her interest in hosting a television show arose because she is a "very nosy person," who enjoys talking with "real" people. "Talk shows were the original reality TV," she continued. "And I'd love to have real talk with real people. I am a very nosy person. I'm very curious about people's lives, so I think that will make it interesting."
Bailon is currently hard at work on her as-yet-untitled solo debut, which features Ne-Yo, The-Dream, Pitbull, Estelle and more.
"It's an R&B-pop album that kind of reminds me of a modern day version of 3LW, I'm going back to my roots of R&B and hip-pop," Bailon said of her forthcoming album. "I'm so excited. It's going to be a great album and I think people will be really surprised."
Her album, like her talk show, does not yet have a release date.
