Eric Andre Calls Out Hip-Hop Community for Supporting Kodak Black and XXXTentacion
Over the weekend, comedian Eric Andre went on Twitter to call out the hip-hop community for supporting artists who have been accused of crimes against women. Andre’s tweets began on Aug. 17 and continued throughout the weekend, as the comedian took an issue with rappers Kodak Black and XXXTentacion.
Andre’s string of tweets began when he asked, “Why are we not ok with neo nazis but we listen to rappers who beat and rape women??? #humanrights.” The comedian went on to tweet, “To clarify - I’m against beating pregnant women. Am I in the minority,” adding that he was only talking about XXXTentacion and Kodak Black.
The star of The Eric Andre Show then went on to tweet articles about Kodak and XXXTentacion’s allegations of sexual assault, asking, “Why can I complain about racism freely, but criticize a rapper’s sexism and everyone gets butt hurt.” Following the end of his tweetstorm, Andre tweeted, “It’s poop jokes from here on out.”
In 2016, XXXTentacion was arrested and charged false imprisonment, witness tampering and aggravated battery of a pregnant victim. The rapper was released on bail in 2017 and claimed he never abused the woman -- ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala.
As for Kodak Black, the Florida rapper has had a number of legal issues including accusations of sexual assault. According to a female victim, the rapper tore her clothes off in a hotel room, bit her and raped her as she screamed for help. Kodak posted bail for the arrest but still faces charges for the claim.
