Childish Gambino Is Headed Out on Tour This September With Rae Sremmurd
Donald Glover isn't slowing down at all in 2018. In addition to the much-anticipated premiere of his award-winning series, Atlanta, and upcoming roles in both the Lion King remake as well as Star Wars, he's just announced that he's going on tour with Rae Sremmurd.
This is the first tour he's embarked upon to support his Grammy-winning funk-soul album, 2016's Awaken My Love! (recorded under his Childish Gambino moniker). The album spawned the mega-hit, "Redbone," which got even bigger after newly minted Oscar-winner Jordan Peele used the track in the opening of his massively successful film, Get Out.
Glover has previously said he plans to retire "Childish Gambino" though back in he brokered a major deal with RCA that will usher in the “next phase” of his music career. "It was a necessary change of pace," Glover said of the partnership.
As for the tour, it's short and sweet, lasting just under a month. The trek starts on September 6 in Atlanta, and ends on Sept. 30 in Vancouver, BC. with stops in Boston, DC, Houston, Dallas, Seattle and New York among others. Pre-sale tickets will be available on March 6, while general tickets will go on sale on March 9 here.
