For a guy about to release an album called 'Underrated,' Bow Wow sure gets a lot of respect from his peers. Last night (Jan. 23), BET devoted an entire episode of '106 & Park' to the rapper and actor, recapping his career and inviting special guests to pay tribute.

"He was like the equivalent of me," said Snoop Dogg, who gave the young MC his stage name back in the early '90s. "I didn't have no kids at the time, so to me, he embellished everything that I imagined my son would be."

Friend and tour mate Chris Brown and producer Jermaine Dupri were among the others to big-up Bow, who took to the mic to chat about his forthcoming seventh studio effort, due out in March. The 24-year-old rhymer promised a personal record dealing with some of the issues he's dealt with over the last few years.

"I felt like I had to live a little more," Bow said, perhaps referencing becoming a father and tangling with the IRS. "I felt like I had to understand life before I could make an album like this."

Asked what he dislikes most about the rap game, the Ohio native cited the "BS" that often comes with being in the business. The best part, he said, is the fans.

"I'm never scared of my people," he said, adding that he'd rather have face time with folks than holler at them via social media.

"When I see them in person, it's better for me," he said. "You can judge anyone off of a tweet."

The tattooed rhymer is currently locked in a deal with Cash Money and Young Money, under which his new album will be released.
