Beyonce and Adele Tapped to Perform at 2017 Grammy Awards Says Show’s Producer
It looks like producers of the 2017 Grammy Awards have already secured two big-name acts for their awards ceremony in February. Chart-topping superstars Beyonce and Adele have been preliminary confirmed to rock the mic at this year’s event.
Us Weekly referred to a Billboard roundtable discussion in which the show's executive producer, Ken Ehrlich, pretty much confirmed that Queen Bey and Adele are performing on the show without really confirming it.
"Very few people say no to the Grammys. Over all of the years I’ve been doing the show, there have been three or four acts who’ve actually said no," he said. He didn't want to reveal any names but said, “I can tell you that Adele and Beyonce are not two of them. We have every anticipation that both of them will be with us in February.”
Well, we should hope so.
Nevertheless, Beyonce is leading all artists in Grammy nominations with nine mentions, including the coveted Album of the Year for grandiose LP, Lemonade. Adele is behind her with five nods and is also up for Album of the Year for her celebrated effort, 25.
So if Mr. Ehrlich is right, it looks like a musical diva showdown will take place in February between Beyonce and Adele. Bey has the upper hand as she is the most nominated female artist in Grammy history with 62 nominations and 20 wins.
The 59th annual Grammy Awards will be air live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Feb. 12, 2017 at 8PM ET on CBS.
