Beyonce, Drake and Kanye West Lead 2017 Grammy Nominations
The 2017 Grammy nominations have officially been announced and Beyoncé continues her run as the most nominated female artist in Grammy history with 62 nominations and 20 wins.
This year, Queen Bey racked up the most nominations, with nine for her explosive, critically-acclaimed work, Lemonade. If she wins just eight of the nine nominations, she'll pass Alison Krauss as the winningest female artist in the history of the awards.
Also clocking in with an impressive number of nominations are Kanye West (The Life of Pablo), Drake (Views) and Rihanna (Anti), who each earned eight nominations. Kanye's eight nominations makes him the second-most nominated male artist in Grammy history, with 68. Only legendary producer Quincy Jones has more, with 79.
Chance the Rapper, who has also had a stellar, break-out year, also made an impressive showing with seven nominations for his album, Coloring Book. Frank Ocean, who made a musical splash with his dramatic release of Blonde isn't on the list because he team didn't submit the album for Grammy consideration. The singer decided to sit the awards out, calling the program old and outdated.
The 59th annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Feb. 12, 2017 (CBS, 8 p.m. ET/PT). Check out a list of nominees below.
