50 Cent’s Ex Shaniqua Thompkins Wants More Child Support for His Son
50 Cent has to cough up the dough for Rick Ross' baby mama and now his own ex, Shaniqua Thompkins, is demanding the rapper pay more money for their teenage son, Marquise Jackson. Thompkins says that she needs more money to help pay for their son's college tuition.
According to Bossip, Thompkins has requested that the New York Family Court “modifies” her current $6,700 a month payments for 19-year old Marquise because she needs sending him to school.
“The case is ongoing,” her attorney John Katsandonis said to BOSSIP. “There’s an issue of him paying for his child’s education.” Reportedly, Katsandonis declined to elaborate on other reasons that Thompkins is seeking more money because the issue is still in court.
“There is a basis – a reason – for the petition,” he said. “It’s in litigation at the moment. Hopefully he will continue to provide for his son and be a good parent.”
Many child support agreements expire after the child reaches the age of 18, but according to New York state law, 50 Cent is responsible for child support until his son turns 21.
Fiddy, Thompkins and Marquise have no love lost between them. The rapper and his son are famously estranged, with Marquise slamming 50 back in 2014 for not attending his graduation. And in an Instagram post this past February, Thompkins gloated about 50 Cent's ongoing financial issues. Prior to all of this, 50 disowned his son via angry text messages that became public after Marquise had refused to answer the door when his dad came to visit.
"Are you f---ing stupid," 50's published texts read. "You had me drive over there why do you think I needed a address s--- head. I saw the lights go out then some one playing in the blinds and there no party going on. F--- you to (sic)."
"You your mother and your sister f--- all of yal (sic)" 50 continued.
