50 Cent is taking a page from Jay-Z's handbook and reportedly signing a former contestant of U.K. reality talent show 'The X-Factor' to G-Note Records.

Gamu Nhengu, an 18-year-old native of Zimbabwe, has reportedly been tapped by 50 Cent to join his newest label, which focuses on acts that don't fit under the hip-hop umbrella. The songstress caught Fif's eye during her run on 'The X-Factor' last year, though she was eliminated from the competition. Nhengu will appear on the G-Note roster using the moniker "Miss Gamuchirai."

"Gamu Nhengu or Miss Gamuchirai as she will now be known, has been signed to 50 Cent's new record label G-note!" Micro Blog Buzz reports. The site also claims the G-Unit head honcho had to wait until Nhengu's contract with the reality show expired before making moves to sign her.

During the singer's time on 'X-Factor,' controversy erupted when judge Cheryl Cole picked audition flops Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd over her at Judges' Houses. Esteemed music industry veteran Simon Cowell predicted Nhengu would go on to win the competition at the season's start.
