It looks like 50 Cent has the power. After an impressive television premiere last Saturday (June 7), Fif's new Starz drama 'Power' has been renewed for a second season.

The series, which is executive-produced by 50 Cent, is a fictional story about a wealthy nightclub owner (played by Omar Hardwick) who lives a double life as a kingpin of one of the biggest drug cartels in New York.

Last weekend, the series drew in 1.27 million viewers and 2.022 million for the nine weekend runs on Saturday and Sunday.

"'Power' is a project extremely close to my heart and working with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik and the Starz team has been the perfect fit for this,” said Fif (quotes courtesy of TheWrap). “Viewers may be loving the start of Season 1 now, but Season 2 will blow them away.”

Production for the 10-episode second season of 'Power' will begin in September.
