After going nearly a year without a new full-length release of any sort, Brooklyn boom-bap enthusiast Your Old Droog is back with a new mixtape, 'Kinison.'

The effort is inspired by comedian Sam Kinison's rant on rap music, which is featured at the beginning of the tape. Featuring production by the likes of Marco Polo, El RTNC and DJ Skizz, the project goes 11 tracks deep and sees Droog laying down his verbal architecture with ease, running roughshod over the drum and sample heavy production. 'Blood,' 'Get the Paper' and 'Gentrify My Hood' are standouts.

While details are scarce on Droog's debut LP, the tape should be enough to hold listeners over for a while and reaffirm why he's one of the most highly touted rising MC's of today.

If you prefer to enjoy your rap live and in-person, be sure to catch Your Old Droog on a stage near you, as the rapper is going on DJ Premier and Royce Da 5'9's 26-date PRhyme tour, which kicks off in Baltimore, Md. on Feb. 18.
