Rapper Slim Dunkin's alleged killer, Young Vito has been taken into custody after the 28-year-old Atlanta rhymer turned himself into authorities on Monday (Dec. 26).

Young Vito, Born Vinson Hardimon, is the target suspect in Dunkin's murder case, which reportedly came about surrounding a fight over a piece of candy. Authorities were on the hunt for Vito since Dec. 16, the day 24-year-old Slim Dunkin succumbed to his shooting injuries.

He and his attorney, Derrick Wright walked into Atlanta police headquarters on Monday to tell cops his details of the tragic incident. Vito appeared drastically different from the man pictured on wanted posters throughout the city -- he can be seen here with his facial hair and dreadlocks shaved off.

On the day Slim Dunkin was shot, he was preparing to star in a video for 'Push Ups,' a song he was featured on alongside Gucci Mane and V-Nasty and which appears on the duo's new album, 'BAYTL.' Before arriving on the video set, Dunkin was inside an Atlanta recording studio where the shooting and scuffle took place. Dunkin, born Mario Hamilton, has since been laid to rest in a funeral ceremony that took place on Friday (Dec. 23).

"There were at least 30 people in the studio at the time of the shooting," Det. David Quinn revealed. "They should get in touch with me. We want the facts. It's the right thing to do."

Young Vito has a history of legal troubles, which include aggravated assault, child cruelty and carrying an illegally concealed gun.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477 or contact Det. Quinn at 404-245-8039.
