When J. Cole gave a slight diss to Mackelmore, Justin Timberlake, and Eminem on the song 'Fire Squad,' it was easy to assume that Em would be the first one to respond. But that wasn't the case. Instead, Detroit rapper Trick Trick spoke up and reportedly threatened to "lock the gate" on Cole.

According to HipHopDX, Trick Trick was spotted responding to an Instagram post about Cole's polarizing song. "He ain't poppin "S--- S---" is he????? I will lock the gate on that n----!" he allegedly wrote in the comments.

Trick Trick is infamous for his "No Fly Zone" policy that he enforces on any rapper who doesn’t collaborate or pay respects to Detroit artists. The veteran rhymer allegedly enforced this rule on Rick Ross during his visit to Detroit back in June.

However, the 'The Villain' creator denies he ever said those words, nor does he feel that way about J. Cole.

"Hello, my name is Christan Mathis- pka- Trick Trick," he wrote on his Instagram page. "This is false. False (adjective) not according with truth or fact; incorrect. Anyone furthering this false information will be dealt with."

So far, Cole has yet to respond to the brouhaha, which some might say is the right thing to do, considering that Trick may not have written that statement at all, as the Instagram post came from a user by the name of Marv O'Neal.

At this point, who do you believe? Does Trick Trick really feel some type of way towards Cole, or is someone making the whole thing up? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
