The Weeknd is branching out into the world of footwear. The Grammy Award-winning superstar has been named Global Brand Ambassador and creative collaborator for Puma.

According to Rap-Up, The Weeknd will rep Puma’s latest sportstyle campaign called “Run the Streets,” which is set to launch in November. The campaign will consist of the sneaker brand’s newest collection, the IGNITE evoKNIT sneaker and Evo Apparel (see photo above).

In addition, the self-proclaimed "Starboy" will launch his own sneaker collection and apparel that will combine Puma's sport-inspired designs and The Weeknd's street-motivated aesthetics. The collection is expected to arrive in 2017.

The Weeknd joins a list of celebrities who have launched their own footwear and apparel collection with Puma. Rihanna, who is the company's creative director, is the most successful artist on their roster with her line of Fenty Creeper shoes. Rapper Meek Mill has released his own Dreamchaser sneaker collection with Puma as well.

Meanwhile, The Weekend will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend. It's a safe bet that he will perform “Starboy” and “False Alarm” from his upcoming album, Starboy, which drops Nov. 25.
