Suge Knight is on the mend after being shot and released from a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday (Aug. 27).

According to TMZ, the former Death Row Records founder was dismissed from Cedars-Sinai around 6AM and will not have to undergo rehab.

Knight was one of three people hit by gunfire on Sunday (Aug. 24) at a Chris Brown-hosted pre-VMAs event at 1OAK nightclub. The rap mogul was shot multiple times including once in the stomach.

A friend of Knight told RadarOnline.com that the shooting was gang-related and the music executive was the intended target not Chris Brown as originally rumored.

"It was totally gang-related. There has been a hit out for Suge ever since Tupac was killed in 1996,” said Justin E. Hayward, an actor/dancer who has worked on projects with both Knight and Breezy.

In addition, Knight has no plans to cooperate with police in regards to who shot him.

“Suge is confident that the gunman will be dealt with on the street, as these matters usually are,” an insider told RadarOnline.com.

If Knight continues on a regular diet and keeps his bandages clean, he'll recover from his gun wounds.
