Soulja Boy Accepts Plea Deal in Assault Weapon Case
Soulja Boy has escaped from doing any jail time after he pleaded “no contest” to felony gun charges stemming from a December police raid at his California mansion, according to TMZ.
If you recall, police raided his home after they received a Crime Stoppers tip that the “Crank That” rapper was threatening people online with guns. In the end, the Los Angeles County D.A. charged the Atlanta rhymer with possession of an assault weapon and felony possession of a firearm. The assault weapon charge is for the Mini Draco AR-15 police discovered, which is illegal to own in the state of California.
Under the plea deal, Soulja got five years of probation and he has to perform 240 days of community labor. Oh, and he’s not allowed to threatened anyone with assault weapons or possess any firearms - not even toy guns.
In addition, the judge also permitted the 26-year-old rapper to travel outside of the country for shows, but he has to clear it with his probation officer first.
Soulja Boy is currently making appearances at various car shows and club events. Hopefully, the rapper can stay out of trouble now that he has jumped over this legal hurdle.
