Brooklyn verbalist Skyzoo has been rocking the mic independently for several years and continues to deliver head-nodding joints without fail. His latest single is “Bamboo,” a jazzy, boom-bap track inspired by the 1993 HBO flick, Strapped.

Over a neck-snapping beat, soothing horns and conga slaps (courtesy of producer Marc Nfinit), Skyzoo spits a gritty narrative about gun violence and the black market gun trading. "My man said that he's Bamboo on the steps / Tell him what you can or can't do for a tech / My man said that he's Bamboo on the steps / One by one, hand to hand with his connect," he raps.

"Bamboo" is from Skyzoo's upcoming EP, Peddler Themes. The eight-song collection will hit digital stores on Friday (July 21). You can pre-order it right now via iTunes.
